Rooms you'll actually live in.

Custom remodeling and millwork for homeowners who want the finished room to be the reason they stay home. We collaborate with your designer — or help you find the right one — and build kitchens, baths, basements, and the spaces between. Two partners on the job site, one standard of work.

Transformation

Same room.
Different life.

We don't just remodel rooms — we redesign how they feel to walk into. Drag the handle to see what thoughtful design, skilled trim work, and the right materials can do to a space most contractors wouldn't touch.

Selected Work

Detail work most contractors won't touch.

Arched niches. Coffered foil ceilings. Hand-laid zellige tile. Picture-frame millwork that wraps a corner clean. The details other remodelers talk clients out of — tile runs that line up, trim miters that disappear, carpentry that fits the wall like it grew there. We make these the reason clients tell their friends.

How We Work

Four steps.
No surprises.

Most homeowners have a bad contractor story. It usually starts with "they said two weeks" and ends with drywall dust on the dog bed. We built this process to make sure you never have one of those stories about us.

Step One

You share your space

Walk through the room with your phone. Tell us what bugs you, what you've been dreaming about, what you have on your Pinterest board. No forms, no calendars to juggle — just a video and a few notes.

Step Two

We come see it

If it's a fit, we schedule a real walkthrough. We bring a tape measure, a notepad, and every dumb question we'd ask if we were about to spend our own money on the room.

Step Three

Design collaboration

Most of our projects involve a designer — yours or one we trust. We work alongside them to turn the vision into a plan we can actually build, with materials, drawings, and a fixed-price proposal before a single tool comes off the truck. No change-order games.

Step Four

We build it

Plastic goes up day one. The site stays clean every night. You get photos at the end of every week. When we're done, you get a walkthrough and the back of every cabinet gets our mark.

Who We Are

Two partners.
One standard.

The name came from the standard we hold ourselves to — the work behind the drywall, the lines that stay straight, the finish that doesn't cut corners because no one will see.

Raise the Bar Remodeling is a partnership between Rob Buss, a remodeling craftsman with years in the trade and his second business behind him, and Tyler Riggs, a thirteen-year Marine Corps veteran who grew up working job sites with Rob during summers home from the service.

When Tyler came home for good, he joined the business. What clients get is a craftsman's eye for detail and a Marine's discipline on the job site — two people who've known each other long enough that the work gets done right without anyone having to be watched.

We work alongside designers every day. If you already have one you love, bring them. If you don't, we can introduce you to the ones we trust.

We build the room the way we'd build it in our own home.

Start a Project

Show us the room.

The easiest way to get started is a short video walkthrough of the space — 60 seconds on your phone, narrated however you want.

Tell us what's bugging you about the room, what you've been picturing, and anything you've been saving on Pinterest. We'll respond within two business days with next steps.

If the fit is right, we'll schedule a walkthrough and put you on the short list.

Or photos, Pinterest board screenshots, hand-drawn plans — anything that shows us what you're seeing. Up to 10MB.

We read every submission. If we're a fit, you'll hear from Rob or Tyler within two business days. If we're not, we'll tell you honestly and often recommend someone who is.
